The East Race Waterway, a showpiece for the City of South Bend, Indiana was the first artificial canoe/kayaking water course in the nation.
The waterway, designed by Lawson-Fisher Associates, is a $4,500,000.00 multi-purpose project on the St. Joseph River. The project is used as a water-oriented park and kayak course, attracting visitors and competitors from all over the nation. The beautiful waterway with variable flow gates is surrounded by boardwalks / walkways and even includes on-the-river dining in exquisite restaurants. |
