Bridges and Structures

America’s bridge infrastructure has been developed over many years and recent events have focused increased attention on functionally obsolete structures. The Olive Road bridge just west of South Bend is an excellent example of our capabilities and serves as an attractive gateway to the South Bend/Mishawaka/Elkhart area from the west. Our experience at Lawson-Fisher goes well beyond new bridge construction to include extensive reconstruction and rehabilitation projects. This experience also includes:

  • Structure condition ratings and inspections
  • MSE wall
  • Coordination with channel realignments
  • Structure size and type analysis
  • Staged or phased construction

As one of the busiest Interstate highways in the country, the Indiana Toll Road also creates exceptional design and engineering challenges. Lawson-Fisher has been consistently selected to provide its services for bridges and interchanges all along the 157-mile system. The Interchange at Milepost 10 represents an expansive integration of exits and entrances including a bridge over an adjacent stream. Other capabilities include:

  • Enclosed drainage system design
  • Signing design
  • Lighting design
  • Traffic management plans
  • Traffic impact studies
  • Signal warrant analysis
  • Traffic signal design
