Recreational Development

Recreational Development

All aspects of engineering contribute to the quality of life in a community, but perhaps none more visibly than those supporting recreational opportunities. These can include riverfront development, parks, walking/biking trail systems and a variety of other recreational facilities. At Lawson-Fisher Associates, we have had primary responsibility for planning, designing and supervising construction of a host of park and recreation facilities, including major riverfront developments. Here are a few of the major recreation-based projects with which we have been involved:

  • City of South Bend/St. Joseph River Corridor Development Master Plan
    • Inventory work plan
    • Analysis of river setting
    • Development of master plan
    • Administration of implementation plan
  • City of Mishawaka, Indiana, Department of Parks & Recreation
    • Planning and design of Central Park masonry wall repair, erosion control, concrete walkways and fish cleaning station
    • Planning and design of pedestrian/golf cart bridge over St. Joseph River
  • City of Elkhart, Indiana, Benham West Redevelopment Area Study
    • Planning and preliminary design of combined commercial/residential development in downtown
